The 1PN50 is an image intensifier unit for observation which uses a monocular body and wraparound rest shield.
The device with binocular magnifier allows to protect observer’s eyes from limit stress and fatigue.

The principle of operation is based on intensification of an image brightness with the help of an image converter tube (ICT) generation 2. In natural light a human being may be identified at distances up to 300 m.

This is the original military standard construction  1PN50 with 8° field of view and not the ‘commercial’ Baigysh-6 that is similar but has an 11° field-of-view and produced under commercial standards.  Supplied with  two batteries, battery-charger and original case
