Brand   :             Ludwig Loewe Berlin
Model      :          MAUSER MODELO ARGENTINO 1891
Caliber:              7.65x53mm Mauser

Manufactured in Germany, the Modelo 1891 Argentine Mauser is a magazine rifle based upon the same Mauser protruding box magazine developed for the Belgian 1889 and Turkish 1890 Mauser rifles. The Modelo 1891 had a short service life as it was replaced by the more modern Modelo 1909 Argentine Mauser in 1909.

The 1891 is chambered in the 7.65x53mm Mauser cartridge and is a very elegant, and beautifully made Mauser rifle.

The initial contract for 180,000 rifles and 30,000 carbines  with MAUSER that was filling a similar production for Turkish Gov passed to Ludwig Loewe & Co.,. Later part of the final order were fulfilled by Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabrik, which was created when Loewe merged with some other German makers.

This is a nice example of the Mauser Model 1891 Argentine contract in 7.65 caliber.  It was built by Ludwig Loewe of Berlin and has seen absolutely no use over the past 118+ years. All matching numbers including the bolt, stock, and brass-tipped cleaning rod.

Overall, the finish is still strong with 99,5% bright original blue overall.  Nice crisp markings and sharp edges throughout.  Like almost all Argentine 1891′s, it has had the crest on the receiver removed.  The stock is in Excellent new condition overall without nicks or dings.  The bolt still has all of its original bright polish.  Excellent action and a MINT bore!!!
