This Bayonet was manufactured for the Russian contract 1916.
The first 15.000 were supplied with the 81/2” knife bayonet of the type issued with the U.S. M-1895 Winchester musket; however, the short blade was not well received by the Russians and the balance of the contract was furnisced with this model (16”).
